The Summer of Love (1967): This was the pinnacle of the Haight-Ashbury movement. In 1967, thousands of young people, drawn by the ideals of peace, love, and harmony, gathered in the Haight for a summer of music, experimentation, and communal living. Though many of the participants were not long-term residents, this influx of young people transformed the area and cemented its place in history.
