A little candle care goes a long way! Follow these simple guidelines to enjoy your Good Llama candles safely and get the most out of every burn.

Burn Safely

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended. Always burn within sight.

  • Keep candles away from children, pets, drafts, and anything flammable.

  • Always place candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface.

  • Keep candles at least 3 inches apart when burning more than one.

  • Never move or touch a candle while the wax is hot.

  • Stop burning when approximately 1/2 inch of wax remains at the bottom of the jar.

  • Never use water to extinguish a candle.

Get the Best Burn

  • Trim your wick to 1/4 inch before every lighting.

  • For the first burn, allow the melted wax to reach the edges of the jar when possible. This helps prevent tunneling and encourages an even burn.

  • Avoid burning your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.

  • Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches, and other debris.

  • Allow the candle to cool completely before relighting.

A Note About Our Crystal Candles

If your candle contains crystals, remove them before lighting. Never reach into hot wax or a burning candle to retrieve a crystal. Allow the wax to cool completely before handling.
